Dear friends, family and neighbors:

We so appreciate your following our blog Revolutionary Marketing Ideas and all your support of our social media adventures.  Our writing journey has led us to realize that if we follow our true passions our writing will flow.  So, we are shifting our focus to Sports, Technology, Travel, Extraordinary Women and Motherhood insights which we love to  explore on a weekly basis–Our joie de vivre. This transition fits with our vision of pursuing the best technology possible so we must move to a self hosted blog.

We are asking for your continued support by subscribing again to our blog. Please click on this link: and then enter your email on the right hand column of the blog where it says subscribe or you can read the blog by RSS feed:

After 20+years in brand marketing, our business focus still leverages insights and concepts to drive extraordinary brands. However, to pursue writing about revolutionary ideas requires high level strategic analysis and curation as well as breakthrough research. This task has become too time intensive for our work and family balance. Plus, so many other amazing bloggers like Shelly Kramer, Julia RosienHeidi Cohen, Melissa Stewart and Leadership West cover social media and marketing topics so well already (be sure to follow them, you will learn so much). Someday, we hope to return to writing about marketing case studies.

Please Vote on the Mascot Idea For Our Blog:

Our daughter thought it would be fun to have a mascot for the blog: Pinky, her dolphin pool toy.  We could take her traveling with us and feature her in photos for a fun “Where is Pinky contest?”. Be sure to watch the video above and let us know if you vote yes by clicking on the leave a comment tab at the top of this blog.  Our daughter feels we need at least 20 votes to justify Pinky’s new role.  We usually don’t do contests or give-aways but what about offering a lunch date with us in NYC featuring knock knock joke entertainment as an incentive to comment. What do you think?

Check Out Our Web Design Partner:

Special thanks to our amazing Web Design team of eDesign-Pro Company. Check them out at @edesignpro or on Facebook. Kat Robertson has been so helpful. When she heard that BlogHer is syndicating one of our posts she rocked the transition into warp speed. Kudos also go to our friend @TinaSeitzinger, the Social Media Goddess, for recommending Kat.

Meanwhile, please let us know:

  • If you have any favorite topics we should cover
  • If there is anything we could do to improve the blog
  • If you would ever like to guest blog

Honoring Our Veterans this Memorial Day with WWE

We have emphasized to our children that the upcoming Memorial Holiday means so much more than just family picnics and bouncy castles. Our country is so blessed to have so many brave men and women who work so hard to keep us free. Our family has been honored to have veterans from many of the armed forces: Marines, Air Force and Army.

As citizens, we need to do everything we can to support our veterans. We have donated many times to Bob Woodruff or purchased UnderArmour to salute the Wounded Warrior Project. This year our boy’s favorite Sports Entertainment Company WWE will salute our Armed Forces by championing the cause Hire Heroes USA an organization dedicated to serving our nation’s veterans through personalized job search training and assistance.  In this economy, job opportunities and training are critical for men and women re-entering the workforce from combative duty.  This theory is discussed by our close friends Sydney Howe Barksdale and Diane Kelly in their brilliant academic treatise about how to heal our heroes called “Treating Young Veterans: Promoting Resilience through Practice and Advocacy”.

Travel Mommy: Sunny Sanibel with Extraordinary Women

“Everyone needs a little time away far away from the ones that we love” ..

As busy working moms, we rarely take time for ourselves. Given our midlife hormones, we are often sleep-deprived and stressed from everyday life. It is so important that we get away every year for a few days from our family. Life is rough when mom isn’t there to hunt down clean underwear, the soccer uniform or missing homework along with managing the cooking and cleaning. So in our absence our family realizes how much we do and how much they love us.  Best of all, we come back refreshed and relaxed.

Sports Apps: Recovering from Major Injuries

Sports and fitness apps are all the rage! Ever since Nike Fit came on the market, we have analyzed and tried out different devices and Apps. However, our athletic career came to a standstill when we almost severed our Achilles. Thank goodness our friends, family and physical therapist (pt) introduced us to some helpful Sports Apps that can spur recovery from major athletic injuries.

Flying Delta, Southwest, US Air, & United with a disability

Navigating Achilles surgery on our right ankle last August was a very tough experience because the rehabilitation moved very slowly.  But the experience of being disabled opened our eyes to the very serious lessons of what it would be like to not be able to walk and have to be so reliant on other people. It was very interesting to see how one is treated with a disability during everyday activities and especially during travel. Since we love to write about travel, we thought it would be helpful to share our experiences with different airlines.

Travel-Mommy: Perfect Mother’s Day outing, Gifts and causes!

The Perfect Outing:

This year we have the perfect Mother’s Day outing planned. Our mom is taking us to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) to see the Picasso exhibit followed by an early dinner.  A day exploring an art museum is a childhood tradition that we still treasure.  When growing up in Tennessee, our mom would create a fun family night by making us pretend we were visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in New York City. She would share slides from her days at Moore College of Art.  To keep us entertained, she would explain the inspirations and techniques of the artists in exquisite detail allowing the vivid colors to jump off the screen.

Love the life you live and live the life you love“-Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart: A classic come back

We chose Rod Stewart’s version of Van Morrison‘s “Have I told you lately that I love you” as our wedding song. Since we started listening to Rod Stewart as a tween, he remains a timeless classic to us.  He has spent four decades being a rock star, three being a parent, and has a new album’s worth of rollicking stories to tell. Time is his first album of new material in almost 20 years and his hairstyle hasn’t changed one bit! Some of the highlights of the album are:
