Tech Mommy: Important Life Saving Apps for Moms

Given all that has been happening in our world from major hurricanes to bombings, we momma tigers just want to cling tightly to our cubs to keep them safe. However, as the leaders of our tribe, we must keep a positive outlook on life and teach our children to see the good in our world like all those who helped each other in the brave city of Boston.  But, it never hurts to be prepared and to teach our children to do the same:

Our top 5 favorite Life Saving or Crisis Preparedness Apps are:

  • CPR & Choking App: developed as a public service by leading physicians and educators in emergency care. The app provides instant details and quick video on how to do CPR and how to aid a choking victim. Of course, nothing is better than regular live training in CPR. Free and available for both iPhone and Android

The app is geo-aware so no matter where you are when an alert is issued, you will receive notifications that affect you. Free and available for both iPhone and Android
  • Disaster Readiness: list topics ranging from how to make your own Disaster Supplies Kit to how to protect your family from nuclear radiation. The app is available for both iPhone and Android for $1.99. Also as backup, the Homeland Security website has great lists on how to prepare for emergencies at Ready.gov
